WF1187: Hello, this is my first attempt
WF1187 submitted:
Hello, this is my first attempt at a red line and redraw for your Tumblr.
I found so many things to be strange about this image, and they were emphasized even more so when I red lined it. Her abnormally shaped hips, her weird boobs, her wibbly wobbly legs and the terrible perspective they were placed in, and her bad choice of pose - I mean stance- for combat
I had to fix some of her proportions because frankly, they made no sense, though I tried to stick closer to her original design without it looking like a freak show. She has retained her curvy figure, but is filled out more in places she needed it (like her calves instead of her thunder thighs). I also had to rehash her pose, otherwise I cringed at any attempt to fix keep it close to what it was.
So here is her breakdown…
Anatomy Fixes:
Broken and oversized pelvis - switched legs for weight and joints
Deformed hand (Not the furry stuff)- fixed pose to hold the sword properly
Noodle legs and thunder thighs - calves now have meat
Walnut boobs/ misplaced nipples - Given better shape and support
Broken Shoulders - Not broken or uneven anymore
Vague expression - More intimidating instead of…vague.
Crotch leg - Leg attached to joint, crotch now exists.
Wardrobe fixes:
Runaway belts! - Now securely fastened so she doesn’t trip over them. It would be unfortunate to break her ankle because she lost her boot.
Coat hazard - a bit shorter and flows with her movement. I’ve fought in a long coat before and, though nto the best choice for combat, it only works if the coat hangs above the ankles so you don’t step on it.
Impractical top - No boob window but still enough cleavage to make viewers happy. Closed the coat so it isn’t one big “hit me!” target.
Pointy heels - shorter and thicker heels to allow plausible movement and less chance to break an ankle.
Unarmed firearm – Now ready to shoot somebody.
Funky sword – A short handle on a sword means it’s only for show, a long handle entails she means business. Shortened the blade so it was more balanced.
My classes in anatomy have really paid off.
I also do not have a Tumblr, so I hope I am submitting this properly.
I like your redraw. I especially love the new pose, and her expression. Very nicely done. Also, thanks for the detailed breakdown of everything you spotted and everything you fixed. :)
